Our Opinion: Good product – but our opinion is there are better products
Liposorb is a fat blocker made in New Zealand by Good Health.
The company has been operating in the health and wellness industry for over a century and offers a vast and varied selection of natural products intended to boost health and vitality.
Good Health is a name you can trust, but Liposorb doesn’t stand out as being a particularly innovative or noteworthy product.
What Is Liposorb Fat Blocker and How Does it Work?
Products that are designed to limit fat absorption are intended to help people to lower the amount of calories their bodies receive each day.
People obtain calories from the fat, carbohydrate, and protein in food.
Fat is the nutrient that contains the most calories of all. Each gram consumed provides nine calories.
Carbohydrate and protein only provide four calories per gram.
When people lose weight by dieting, with no additional help from supplements, they reduce the amount of food they are eating and opt for low-calorie food choices.
When done correctly, this can cause the body to become so short of calories it has to start burning body fat to get extra energy.
When people consume fat after taking a fat blocker like Liposorb, all the calories are still there, but a percentage (typically around 30%) is not digested or absorbed.
Instead, it passes through the intestines untouched, taking its calories with it, and leaves the body as waste.
Liposorb Fat Blocker Key Ingredients and Blend Potential
Each Liposorb Fat Blocker capsule contains:
- Chitosan (500mg): An ingredient that is obtained from the shells of prawns, shrimps, and other marine crustaceans. The human digestive system cannot process chitosan, so, when it’s eaten, it passes through the body in an undigested state. This on it’s own does not make chitosan a particularly interesting ingredient. If you swallowed a marble the same thing would occur. However, when chitosan is taken alongside food, it absorbs some of the fat it encounters in the stomach and binds with it. Once bound in this way, the fat becomes indigestible too. Fat that is not digested does not release any calories. It’s as simple as that.
- Ascorbic Acid (100mg): Ascorbic acid provides Vitamin C. It’s occasionally added to fat blocking products because a study conducted on guinea pigs suggests Vitamin C may work well alongside chitosan and increase the amount of fat it can block. If you’re not a guinea pig it may not work, but Vitamin C helps boost the immune system and its presence here is more likely to add benefit that to take anything away.
Good Health advise taking two to three capsules before high fat meals.
Anyone who is serious about losing weight would do well to avoid high fat meals, so we have to wonder if the company is marketing this product towards customers looking for a cheat-pill that will allow them to eat what they want without gaining weight.

Liposorb Fat Blocker Side Effects and Health Issues
Due to the form of chitosan used, Liposorb will not be suitable for anyone who is vegetarian or has seafood allergies. No side effects have been reported, but using diet pills that block fat absorption can cause the body to run short of important fat-soluble vitamins.
The body has to get fat soluble vitamins (Vits A, D, E, and K) from the fat provided by food. Vitamin C is not a fat-soluble vitamin, so it’s presence in the Liposorb Fat Blocker will not help compensate.
The body does not have a high demand for fat-soluble vitamins, but it does need them, so anyone using a fat blocking product will need to think about taking a vitamin supplement as well (some hours before/after the fat blocker has been used).
It is also important not to eat a lot of high-fat food while using fat blockers.
Anyone who takes a cheat-pill mentality and gives products of this nature too much fat to block runs the risk of suffering extreme bouts of diarrhoea.
Liposorb Fat Blocker is not recommended for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. People who have existing health problems should ask a doctor for advice before using fat blockers or other weight management supplements.
Where to Buy Liposorb Fat Blocker
Most of the online stores selling this product are based in New Zealand.
However, Australians looking for a supplier closer to home may be able buy Liposorb from Pharmacy Online. Although, at the time of our review, it was marked out of stock.
It would be nice if there was a money back guarantee, unfortunately there is not.
The Bottom Line
There is nothing unique about Liposorb.
There are any number of alternative fat blocking products on the market.
The quantities involved may vary from one to the next, but many of them contain chitosan, and supplements that offer a combination chitosan and Vitamin C are becoming increasingly common.
We have no doubts about Liposorb’s ability to do the thing it’s intended to do, but anyone who is determined to make an effort to lose weight will be better off opting for a product that offers a more diverse range of benefits, including appetite suppression and fat burning.
Supplements that provide these benefits make dieting easier by taking away hunger pangs and causing the body to burn calories at an increased rate.
We don’t consider Liposorb to be a product suitable for serious dieters.
This kind of supplement is generally more attractive to people who want to go on eating too much fat and are looking for a damage limitation device.
