Hunger Buddy – suppresses appetite and fights food cravings
Why You Might Buy It: It is made by XLS Medical, a company of high standing with a great reputation. It contains glucomannan which is an excellent appetite suppressant.
Why You Might Not: Can work out to be very expensive.
Our Opinion: In our opinion Hunger Buddy hasn’t really caught the imagination.
Hunger Buddy review. When it comes to blocking the absorption of dietary fat, a lot of people think XLS-Medical set the standard and there can be no denying it’s a popular product.
However, the XLS-Medical range contains a number of other weight loss products that have failed to truly catch on and Hunger Buddy appears to be one of them.
Hunger Buddy Benefits
- Provides a feeling of satiety in the stomach
- Fights food cravings
- Reduces the desire to snack
- Helps you cut down your food portion sizes
How Does Hunger Buddy Work
Hunger Buddy is only designed to do one thing—control hunger urges. Dieters who cannot defeat the desire for food will probably be unable to reduce their calorie intake sufficiently to cause the body to experience the lack of energy that is necessary to trigger the burning of fat.
So any product that successfully provides appetite suppression offers obvious value to people who need to lose weight.
Hunger Buddy contains unspecified quantities of:
- Potassium bicarbonate
- Microcrystalline cellulose
- Magnesium stearate
The only active ingredient is Redusure. The other three compounds have been added as binders and fillers.
Redusure is a proprietary blend that contains amorphophallus konjac. Also known as glucomannan, konjac root extract is capable of soaking up many times it’s own weight in water and the process of hydration causes its natural fibres to expand.
When this occurs in the stomach it creates a feeling of satiety that reduces the appetite. Research shows using 1g of konjac with 8oz of water, before three meals per day can produce a “significant mean weight loss”, but there’s a problem here. The konjac used in Redusure has been mixed with other compounds and the quantities involved are not disclosed.
On a more positive note, the appetite suppressing abilities of the Redusure proprietary blend have been evaluated in a clinical trial and 94% of the participants say they experienced a feeling of satiety. Unfortunately, the results of a single study cannot be seen as definitive proof the product works.
Worse still, the study was funded by the company (InQpharm) that developed and distributes Redusure, so it could be seen as being biased.
Hunger Buddy Customer Testimonials
A few average testimonials read:
Hunger Buddy Side Effects & Usage Considerations
Hunger Buddy is a vegetarian-friendly weight loss product intended for adult users (over 18), but it is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding a child or for people who have a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 18.5 or less.
Potential users who have existing health problems are advised to get their GP’s approval before using Hunger Buddy. The same is advised for anyone who is using medication or has been put on a low-iodine diet.
Hunger Buddy Buying Options
As Hunger Buddy is more commonly sold in the UK we will give example pricing in £ as opposed to US or Australian $. Hunger Buddy is available from a number of suppliers, including Boots, Holland & Barrett, and Asda.
Expect to pay £10-£15 per (40 capsule) bottle, depending on which supplier you choose. It’s also possible to buy Hunger Buddy from Amazon and this is usually the cheapest option because the Amazon price is just £6.99.
At first glance even paying £15 for a bottle of diet pills may seem like a bargain, but most users are likely to be taking 6-9 capsules per day so a bottle of Hunger Buddy will only give a few days to a week’s worth of use.
There is no money back guarantee
Hunger Buddy Summary
Customers who buy Hunger Buddy will likely find the cost of using this product is more expensive than the low price tag makes it appear and the amount of support it offers is not that good.
At best it should be capable of controlling hunger and that’s an area where most dieters are grateful for extra help. However, customer reviews suggest the formulation has already let a lot of people down and this is a product sold without a guarantee.
Some dieters do report good results, and that’s certainly a point in Hunger Buddy’s favour, but there are plenty of alternative options that offer dieters a greater level of support, along with a money back guarantee, so it’s not surprising this XLS-Medical appetite suppressant has failed to take the world by storm.
